David Sterlace, PE
David has over 10 years of experience in the real estate, construction, and engineering industry. Mr. Sterlace has managed over $1 Billion in capital expenditures, and has represented owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, and designers.
Prior to joining Brian Spiers Development David served as a consultant with Exponent, and has prepared and evaluated claims for owners, contractors, subcontractors, and designers. He has presented his findings during negotiations and has participated in various alternative dispute resolution forums.
David also served as the Assistant Director of the construction firm, Q Builders, based in Palo Alto, where he had active roles in business development and overseeing the Operations Division, and at Roebbelen Contracting Inc. as a Project Manager. His industry experience spans multiple sectors including Healthcare, Hi-Tech, Higher Education, Public Works, K-12, Low Income Housing, Commercial, Residential, and Heavy Civil. He approaches every aspect of the project life cycle, from conceptual stage thru occupation, with the same professional approach that has made him a success in this industry. He is actively involved in trade organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Urban Land Institute Young Leader Group, and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
In addition to his industry experience, David has pursued higher education and has attained his professional engineering license. Upon finishing his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and then working for a little over a year on the heavy civil side, David enrolled at the University of Southern California to pursue a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering. He completed the two year program in one year while working full time. Shortly after moving back to Northern California, David turned his attentions to gaining his professional engineering license, which he acquired in early 2008. Most recently, David completed his MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, in May of 2011.
